Stories of Absence
Stories of Absence is a cyanotype series made in 2019, during my AiR in Spain, using garments, jewellery, lace, and small personal objects as photographic traces of an absent body. Through direct exposure and contact, the works treat objects not as still life, but as residual portraits — images of what remains when the figure has disappeared.
The project forms an early articulation of concerns that continue in my painting practice: female presence, material memory, sartorial language, and the unstable threshold between image, object, and trace.
Sizes vary from postcards to 30x42cm.
